About Us: About the Practice
Daniel C. Snyder, MD is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon completing his Residency in Boston and is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Tufts School of Medicine and is a speaker and trainer at many courses and seminars for Physicians and Residents. Dr. Snyder is the Assistant Director of the Kaplan Center for Joint Reconstruction Surgery at Newton Wellesley Hospital / Massachusetts General Hospital.
Dr. Snyder has been in the forefront on an exciting new technology: Hip Resurfacing. Unlike traditional hip replacement, Hip Resurfacing does not require removal of the entire head and neck of the femur. Hip resurfacing is a more conservative approach to hip replacement and may be more appropriate for younger, active patients. A critical success factor for performance of this procedure is the learning curve. The procedure is technically demanding and proper use of positioning and enhanced equipment is essential. Dr. Snyder has performed over 400 Hip Resurfacings and is currently training other surgeons to perform this procedure.
